PM Ismail: Fully Vaccinated Individuals Can Now Travel Interstate

People will also be allowed to fly out of Malaysia for tourism purposes.

Fully vaccinated individuals will be allowed to travel interstate starting Monday, 11 October, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced

In a special announcement today, 10 October, Ismail said that the ban on interstate movement is being lifted as Malaysia has fully vaccinated 90% of the adult population. 

Domestic tourism will also be allowed

According to the Prime Minister, while restrictions are being lifted, the people must adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) or else strong actions will be taken against anyone who breaches SOPs.

There will also be random checks by police to see if unvaccinated people are taking advantage of the situation.

Additionally, people will also be allowed to fly out of Malaysia

Ismail said that the MyTravelPass will no longer be enforced and Malaysians can travel overseas for tourism purposes among others, starting tomorrow.

Those travelling overseas will still have to quarantine upon return to Malaysia.

However, the country is still not yet open to foreign tourists.
