PN Submits "More Than 112" SDs To Agong From MPs Backing Muhyiddin As PM

Amidst the political situation after the 15th General Election (GE15), Perikatan Nasional (PN) says it has statutory declarations (SDs) from "more than 112" members of parliament (MPs) to form a government

PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the coalition has submitted the SDs supporting Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the country's next prime minister to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

PN, however, did not say which MPs have aligned with the coalition

"The number of SDs exceeded 112, which is the majority needed in order to appoint a prime minister under Article 43 of the Federal Constitution," Hamzah said in a statement today, 21 November.

Support from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will only give PN 101 seats, which is still 11 seats short of a simple majority needed to form a government.

Yesterday, GPS said that it will form a new government together with PN, GRS, and BN. However, BN has since denied the claim:
