The government has launched the Global MADANI Awards, organised by Yayasan PEACE, on Wednesday, 24 January

The launch ceremony was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who was joined by Senior Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin.

The awards aim to honour, celebrate, and support international transformative contributions to society that embody the six pillars of MADANI Malaysia, namely Sustainability, Care & Compassion, Respect, Innovation, Prosperity, and Trust.

Fadillah said the initiative was inspired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who envisioned it becoming a leading global award.

"With the launch of this award, the values of MADANI Malaysia and its spirit will be able to be applied not only among Malaysians but also introduced to the world community," Bernama quoted him as saying.

"As a think-tank, this is the best opportunity for Yayasan PEACE to help the government promote the values of MADANI Malaysia to all levels of society and all Malaysians," Shamsul Iskandar said.

Yayasan PEACE is a think-tank founded in 2019 by the Legal Affairs of the Prime Minister Department as an adviser to develop publications on public and economic policies.
