A Malaysian man recently posted a TikTok video about his experience buying a drink from a Ramadan bazaar vendor

In the two-minute clip, user @eshamsoda said that he bought a strawberry drink from the vendor for RM5.

However, upon closer look, he noticed a sign at the booth that said a drink with less ice would cost an additional RM3.

"So I told the kid (selling at the booth), 'I want a strawberry drink with less ice,' and he prepared the drink," he said.

"I gave his father RM5 but he asked me if I bought it with less ice, so I said yes. He then told me to add RM3," he added.

The man then tried to reason with the seller that a drink with less ice should not cost more than a regular drink

"He still told me to pay another RM3 and I reminded myself that it is Ramadan, his booth did not have any customers, and I felt bad for his son," he said.

"Those are the only reasons why I went to his booth, but I didn't expect he'd ask me to pay more," he added.

He said that the drink packed in a plastic bag was only as small as his hands and was not worth RM8.

However, in the end, the man said that he caved in and bought the drink.

Netizens were appalled by the seller's actions and left their thoughts in the comments section

One user commented that they no longer want to go to bazaars because of the recent price increases set by vendors.

"If I were you, (I would've said) 'It's okay bang, (just) cancel (it),' and then leave," commented another.

Meanwhile, one user claimed that they also sell drinks but have never charged customers for orders with less ice, except for certain drinks.

"If they buy coconut water then we would charge an additional RM0.50 or RM1 depending on the size of the cup," they wrote.
