Rapid KL Offers 24-Hour Train & Bus Services For National Day Celebrations
There will be free shuttle buses from Putrajaya Sentral MRT station to Dataran Putrajaya too!
Rapid KL trains and selected bus services in Klang Valley will be operating for 24 hours in conjunction with the 67th National Day celebrations this year
In a statement yesterday, 15 August, Prasarana president and group chief executive officer Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah said all rail services, including the Light Rail Transit (LRT), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), and monorail, along with the Sunway Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and selected bus routes, will run from 6am on 30 August to 11.30pm on 31 August.
The round-the-clock service, he said, is being offered for the first time as part of Prasarana's initiative to support the government's efforts in organising National Day festivities.
In previous years, services were extended for not more than 24 hours.

To facilitate with the festivities in Putrajaya, Rapid KL will also be providing up to 60 free shuttle buses from Putrajaya Sentral MRT station to Dataran Putrajaya from 6pm on 30 August to 3pm on 31 August.
Nine buses will also be made available from the Putrajaya Sentral MRT station to various attractions around Putrajaya for the entire day on 31 August, including the Botanical Gardens, Marina Putrajaya, Alamanda Shopping Centre, and the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

Mohd Azharuddin said Prasarana is proud to offer these services and is committed to delivering the best travel experience during this year's National Day celebrations
"Over 4,000 Rapid KL staff will work in shifts to ensure smooth 24-hour operations and provide an enjoyable travel experience for Merdeka 2024," he said.
He also encouraged city residents to use Rapid KL's rail and bus services to avoid traffic congestion, highlighting that over 10,000 parking spaces are available at selected rail stations.
He added that Prasarana will also be partnering with the police to ensure smooth operations on the day, as well as to assist with traffic management.
