DBKL Is Offering Special Discounts On Traffic Fines From Now Until 30 September

DBKL also included a list of offences not covered under the limited-time discount.

In celebration of Hari Kebangsaan and Malaysia Day, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has announced special discounts on outstanding fines for traffic and general offences

A special rate for traffic offences, including parking violations, is applied to various types of vehicles. The discounted rates are set at RM10 for motorcycles, RM20 for cars, multipurpose vehicles (MPV) and small lorries, and RM50 for buses and larger lorries. However, these discounts do not apply to blacklisted vehicles.

As for general offences, such as hawking licences that do not involve foreign nationals, the fine is fixed at RM100.

The discounted rates are applicable from 1 August to 30 September.

DBKL also listed types of offences that are not eligible for the special discount:

Traffic violation notices issued under Section 53 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which pertains to bus lane offences, are not eligible for the discounted rate.

Moreover, offences under the following Acts do not qualify for the special discount:
- The Transportation of Material (WPKL) 1997
- The Wholesale Market (WPKL) 2002
- The Hotel Act (WPKL) 2003
- The Entertainment Act (WPKL) 1992
- The Federal Territory (Planning) Act 1982
- Offences related to building approvals under the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974
- Employing any foreign national without a valid work permit under the Licensing of Trades, Businesses, and Industries (WPKL) 2016
- Employing any foreign national under the Licensing of Hawkers (WPKL) 2016
