Renewed Your Passport Online? Collect Within 90 Days Or Risk It Being Dumped

The Immigration Department reported that around 2,600 passports have gone unclaimed.

Many are renewing their passports online as borders are now open and Malaysians are, once again, starting to travel

Speaking at an event in Perak, yesterday, 24 July, Bernama reported Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin urging Malaysians who have renewed their passports to collect them within 90 days, otherwise they will be disposed of.

According to the Immigration Department, around 2,600 renewed passports were unclaimed.

Hamzah acknowledged that people may not be able to collect their passports once they have been renewed due to certain reasons

"It is not the jurisdiction of the Immigration Department to send the passports to the applicant," he said.

Meanwhile, at the 'Kita Demi Negara' event, more than 2,000 people registered as 'Sahabat Kita Demi Negara' to help the government, especially regarding issues involving national security, by acting as their eyes and ears.

Those who are involved in this will be able to participate in various activities that are carried out by any security agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
