At Least 2 Malaysians Have Been Found Dead In Lombok Earthquake
22 Malaysian tourists were trapped in a landslide yesterday, 17 March.
At least two Malaysians were killed following a 5.8- magnitude earthquake, which occurred in Lombok, Indonesia yesterday, 17 March
New Straits Times reported that the quake, which occurred at 2.07pm local time yesterday, triggered a deadly landslide which killed several people.
One of the victims was deputy executive editor-in-chief of Sin Chew Daily Datin Tai Siew Kim. Her son, who was with her, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Another Malaysian woman identified as Lim Sai Wah was also killed in the landslide. However, her personal details have yet to be disclosed, Malay Mail reported.

Earthquake tremours were reportedly felt in North, Central, and West Lombok, all the way up to Denpasar, Bali.
According to Bernama, 44 people were injured and almost 500 homes were destroyed.
A total of 40 tourists, including 22 Malaysians, were trapped at Tiu Kelep Senaru waterfalls when the earthquake struck
"Seven [Malaysians] who were injured are receiving treatment at a hospital, while 13 others are safe," said Deputy Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Zamshari Shaharan, Malay Mail reported today, 18 March.
Identities of the remaining Malaysian victims have yet to be known.

Wisma Putra has since expressed its condolences and sympathy to the victims and their families affected by the disaster, Malay Mail reported.
Search and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to look for the victims. As of Sunday afternoon, 19 people were rescued and two dead bodies were found.
