42-Year-Old SG Man Jailed For Letting Other Men Sexually Assault His Wife For 8 Years
The crime was exposed when the man's wife discovered explicit images of herself on his phone.
A Singaporean man has been sentenced to 29 years in jail and 24 strokes of the cane for drugging and inviting other men to sexually assault his wife over the course of eight years
According to The Straits Times, the 42-year-old man admitted in the Singapore High Court last May that he had invited five men to his home between 2010 and 2018 to rape his wife.
It was reported that the man allegedly drugged his wife and then watched as the men sexually assaulted her without protection in the couple's bedroom. He was also accused of sexually assaulting the wives of two of the men involved.
The crime was exposed when the man's wife discovered explicit images of herself on his phone. She later discovered that her husband and the other men had been engaging in 'wife-swapping'.

On 17 January, the defendant, who represented himself, appealed to the court for a more lenient sentence
He stated that he could not leave his wife, four children, and ageing parents to "fend for themselves".
"The sentence imposed has already choked the life out of me. My soul has died, what is left is just an empty shell," he said.
The accused also submitted letters from his mother and sister, both pleading for leniency.
Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon rejected his plea for a lighter punishment, emphasising that the sentence was already "lenient".
Sundaresh insisted that the accused must confront his actions and find answers without expecting leniency from the court. He also stated that the court must adhere to precedents and sentencing principles.

It was reported that the five men connected through an online platform, where discussions about swapping sexual partners were taking place
According the Singaporean daily, the men also exchanged explicit details of their sex lives, including images or videos of their wives or partners, either in the group or private chat.
Four out of these five men pleaded guilty to their charges and received prison sentences ranging from 13½ to 22 years, with three of them also receiving 20 strokes of the cane.
The fifth man was convicted in November last year and is awaiting sentencing.
