Shafee: Najib Could Be Released From Prison In A Month If High Court Rules In His Favour

The former prime minister is currently serving his jail sentence at Kajang prison.

Incarcerated former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak could be released from Kajang prison in a month if the Kuala Lumpur High Court rules in his favour in his bid for house arrest

Najib's lead counsel, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, was asked by reporters how soon he could be released after the Court of Appeal allowed his house arrest appeal on 6 January.

"It depends, if the judge rules in our favour, say within a month, he [could] go back [home to serve the remainder of his sentence] within a month," Shafee was quoted as saying by FMT.
