A temple caretaker has surrendered himself to the police after slashing a man for parking in front of Sam Sean Temple in Kampung Kuala Kuang, Perak

According to China Press, the incident occurred at around 3pm on Tuesday, 26 November, when the victim parked his vehicle in a prohibited area in front of the temple.

Sam Sean Temple's chairman, surnamed Liu (transliteration), said he learned that the victim insisted on parking at the spot despite the temple keeper's request to move.

An argument ensued after the victim refused to comply, leading the temple keeper to use a parang to slash the victim.

Liu said the slash wound the victim sustained was so deep that his bones were revealed. He is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun.

According to the temple chairman, parking in that spot has always been prohibited, and there were plenty of available spots in the area at the time of the incident

When asked whether the parang used in the attack was taken from the temple, Liu confirmed that the temple keeps several bladed tools for handling chores.

He described the temple keeper as a hardworking man with a bit of a temper. He added that he has not spoken to him and does not know the full details of the incident.

Speaking to Oriental Daily, Liu also described the temple keeper as very hygienic, often cleaning the area in front of the temple.

The victim is said to have polluted the area, which led to the attack.
