The Terengganu state government is launching a matchmaking app to help its residents find love
In a Facebook post on Monday, 4 November, the Terengganu Family Development Foundation (YPKT) stated that it recently held a briefing to review the latest developments of the application.
It said the application, developed by Top IT Industries Sdn Bhd, is designed to help the people of Terengganu find partners at no cost.
"With the launch of this app, we hope to help the people of Terengganu build stronger relationships and strengthen the family institution in the state," YPKT said.
The state government body added that, during the briefing, a range of improvements were discussed to ensure the application functions well and meets user needs.
According to pictures shown during the meeting, profiles may display name, age, gender, marital status, race, and religion. Users who wish to express interest in someone can click the 'berminat' button.
The app is nearly completed and is expected to be launched soon, the foundation said
YPKT said the app is intended to be a simple and accessible platform for unmarried individuals to find a suitable partner. To use the app, applicants must be Terengganu residents aged 21 and above.
According to the New Straits Times, users must be either unmarried or single parents. The app is also intended for first marriages only and cannot be used for the purpose of polygamy.
However, it remains unclear how these conditions will be implemented.
