Toddler Drowns After Falling Into Floodwaters In Kelantan

A 15-month-old boy drowned after falling into floodwaters in Kampung Gual Tok Deh, Rantau Panjang, Kelantan yesterday, 19 December
According to Bernama, Rantau Panjang fire station chief Shapawi Stapa said the baby was reported to be playing with his older sister on the porch of their house at around 1pm when the tragedy happened.
Shapawi mentioned that the station was notified of the incident, but villagers had discovered the body by the time firemen arrived and were brought to Hospital Pasir Mas for further investigation.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said that the boy was the first fatality in the current floods in the state
The victim was identified as Muhamad Putra Zahfran Mohamed Iswandiee, reported Bernama.
After realising that the youngster had left the house to play, the boy's uncle found the boy's body floating in the water.
Muhamad Zaki said that police have started operations in all districts and urged everyone to be alert to the rising water levels during the flood season.
