"Did I Get Scammed?" — Tourist Shocked After Being Charged RM10 For Ramly Burger
The burger included only one chicken patty, lettuce, onion, and sauce.
Malaysia is a favourite destination for tourists, who are drawn to its rich variety of food.
However, there have been instances where some tourists get scammed into paying more than the actual price.
A recent incident came to light when an American influencer, Solomon, posted a video of himself paying more than the usual price for a Ramly burger at a stall in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
In the seven-minute video shared on his Facebook page, the influencer, known for travelling and exploring various cuisines, was seen ordering a standard Ramly burger from the stall.
While waiting for his order, Solomon filmed the vendors preparing it, which included one chicken patty, lettuce, onion, and sauce.
After his order was ready, he approached the stall's owner to ask the price of the burger. The tourist was told that the regular burger, which does not come with cheese or eggs, would cost RM10. He subsequently paid the requested amount.
In his video caption, Solomon asked, "Did I really get scammed at this Ramly burger stand?"

In the comments section of Solomon's video, many Malaysians said the burger was overpriced
"I think [you] got cheated. Normal Ramly burgers should be around RM4 or RM5. RM10 is too much," wrote one user.
"They scammed you and it's a shame for us as Malaysians. The actual price is only RM4 for the [original burger]. They [overcharged] you," said another.

Another user commented, "Yes, you got scammed. Normally, the price should be RM4 only, and with the cheese topping, [it will be an additional RM1]."

Several netizens even urged the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) to investigate the issue
"The owner is so foolish to scam him. Now, a YouTuber who frequently reviews Malaysian food has fallen victim. Hopefully, the ministry will take action. The evidence is already there," said one user.
"KPDN, please investigate. [This is tarnishing] the country's image," commented another.
