UK Student Sends 1KG Of Pork To Muslim Woman After She Rejects Him On A Date
The victim had to repeatedly block Kaichen Ma, who had used 44 phone numbers to contact her.
A Chinese student in the UK was sentenced to jail for obsessively stalking a Muslim student and sending her 1kg of pork to her university accommodation
According to The Telegraph, Kaichen Ma became obsessed with the woman after going on a date.
Prosecutor Matthew Bean told the Durham Crown Court that the two met at a nightclub on 30 September last year and exchanged contact details.
They went to a Turkish restaurant and a cinema a few days later. At the end of the date, the 21-year-old man tried to kiss the woman and touch her arm as he was walking her home.
She told the Chinese national that she was not interested and that he was too forward. Despite that, Bean said Ma continued to harass her by using 44 phone numbers to contact her after the date.
The victim, who studied at Durham University, blocked him repeatedly, but he turned up to her lectures even though they were not in the same course.

Other than sending pork, which is haram for Muslims, Ma bought gifts addressed to "the love of my life", such as a Pandora ring, cards, and a plane ticket to visit his family in China
Ma's obsession had frightened her to leave her accommodation unescorted. She suffered from mental distress and missed two weeks of classes.
After Ma was detained on 1 December last year, he admitted to charges of stalking and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He was released on bail on the condition that he would not contact or approach the woman.
However, within the same month, he sent her further messages, asking her to show mercy on him and urging her to drop the police complaint against him, reported The Telegraph.
He added that she should visit China with him and booked a flight ticket for her to Beijing. In some messages, he made references to the Armenian genocide, knowing that she is Turkish.
Additionally, he also offered to pay her a month of his salary in exchange for her to drop the harassment complaint.
Ma's other messages implied that he would die by suicide over the matter, even suggesting that he "had a way to handle it" if she told the police that he had contacted her again.

On 30 January, Ma was arrested again when he approached her on the streets and remained in custody since
Judge James Adkin sentenced him to 28 months in jail, reported Daily Mail.
After he has served half of the term, he will then be deported. Judge Adkin also subjected Ma to a restraining order, prohibiting him from contacting or approaching the victim for 15 years.
He said Ma's "obsessive, persistent" behaviour had a great impact on the victim, adding that the defendant continued despite the bail condition of not contacting her.
