A snake was spotted slithering around an AirAsia plane's cabin overhead compartment mid-flight, as seen in a viral video
The video, captured by TikTok user @wannabnailssalon, has garnered over 3.8 million views on the social media platform.
According to the New Straits Times, the incident occurred on an AirAsia Airbus A320 flying from Bangkok to Phuket on Saturday, 13 January.
In the minute-long video, a cabin crew member was seen calmly trying to capture the snake with an empty plastic water bottle.
The video showed that he managed to capture the snake by gently sweeping it into a plastic bag using the water bottle.
In the comments section, netizens praised the cabin crew member for solving the issue admirably, despite probably never having handled a wild animal in-flight before.

Local media reported that the snake was safely stored away until the aircraft landed at Phuket International Airport
An AirAsia spokesperson told SAYS that the plane landed without incident. It was immediately inspected by the relevant teams on ground, in case there were other snakes, but no more were found.
The aircraft was also subjected to a deep clean and fumigation before resuming operations.
Meanwhile, AirAsia Thailand assured that they have thoroughly reviewed and enhanced safety protocols to prevent such occurrences in the future.
