Videos showing a man resembling former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Musa Hassan in a heated altercation with a woman have gone viral on Twitter

In a tweet yesterday, 7 March, @makcikbawangmu uploaded three videos showing a man with white hair arguing with a woman.

It is believed that they are having a financial and property-related dispute in the videos.

The argument escalates when the woman brings up shares in a business, while the man seems to be fixing a school belt that is believed to belong to a child who is also in the living room with them.

The woman then challenges the man to marry a Chinese woman if he is upset.

"Kau dengki takut orang lain dapat aku kan? Kau pun boleh kahwin lain dengan Cina tu (You are jealous (and) scared that other people will get me? You also can marry that Chinese (woman)," says the woman behind the camera, triggering the man to snatch her phone.

In a separate video, the woman can be heard demanding that the man return her phone. While the woman is screaming and pleading, the child in the living room starts hitting the man with a book.

The boy is also seen trying to snatch the phone from the man's grip in another video.

At the time of writing, the tweet has garnered over 5.5 million views and 11,000 likes

One netizen replied to the tweet with a news article from Harian Metro, reporting that a former senior police officer allegedly beat his second wife. The report did not name the former senior cop.

The second wife filed a police report over the matter at the Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) police station, claiming that the incident took place at 8pm on 28 February.

The woman in her 40s claimed to have been beaten by her husband on the head and back of the neck.

The report also mentioned that the former senior police officer also filed a police report through his lawyer at 3pm the next day, alleging that he was beaten by a helmet during the incident.

It is uncertain whether both police reports in the Harian Metro article are linked to the viral clips.

However, a separate report published yesterday confirmed that Musa's lawyer from Hisham & Partners had filed the police report

It is claimed that the former IGP visited his wife, named Elly Efizahwati Abdul Jalil, to hand over RM5,000 for expenses that also include money for his son's school books, reported Malaysia Gazette.

Elly was said to have gotten upset when she received a letter from a shariah lawyer and started recording her husband.

Despite being told to stop, Elly allegedly continued recording, leading Musa to try to confiscate the phone.

Following that, she allegedly took a stick to hit Musa until he fell down.

The former IGP was said to have sought treatment at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.

In the wake of the allegation, Musa Hassam replied to a tweet asking the public not to speculate and interfere as it is a private family issue

He said people who speculate on the matter will face legal action.

According to Malaysiakini, Musa was the IGP from 2006 to 2010. He later joined the Pakatan Rakyat security advisory council in 2013 in the run-up to the 13th General Election (GE13).

In 1998, he was the investigating officer of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy allegation. Three years ago, Segambut lawmaker Hannah Yeoh sued him for defamation after he claimed Yeoh wrote a book on turning Malaysia into a "Christian nation".

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness.
