The first session of the 15th Parliament will commence with the meeting of the Dewan Rakyat for two days on 19 and 20 December

The first order of business will be the election of the Dewan Rakyat Speaker, according to the invitation sent to members of parliament (MPs) earlier today, 1 December, reported New Straits Times.

Current Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun was appointed in July 2020 after the collapse of the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, and amid much furore.

The election of the new Speaker will see Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's majority tested.

The motion of confidence for Anwar is the eighth item on the agenda

According to Malaysiakini, the tabling of the motion of confidence on the 10th Prime Minister — who has been appointed to lead a unity government or a grand coalition to end the political impasse — will likely happen on day one itself as the swearing-in ceremony is expected to last no more than three hours.

The government is expected to table a mini-budget for civil service emoluments.

Meanwhile, Anwar is expected to announce his Cabinet soon:
