It's Official: Anwar Ibrahim Sworn In As 10th PM
The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairperson took his oath in front of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim took his oath of office before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara at 5pm today, 24 November
With the oath of office, Anwar has been sworn in as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The Tambun member of parliament (MP) arrived at the palace for the presentation of the instrument of appointment and swearing-in ceremony at the palace amidst shouts of "reformasi" from his supporters.
Anwar was appointed by the Agong to the post earlier today after days of political uncertainty post the 15th General Election (GE15)
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today consented to the appointment in accordance with Article 40(2)(a) and Article 43(2)(a) of the Federal Constitution.
The appointment was finalised after the Agong deliberated the opinions of the Malay Rulers, who convened a special meeting at Istana Negara today to make the best decision for the country.
