Malaysia has recently seen a spike in COVID-19 cases all over the country.

It has raised concerns that another Movement Control Order (MCO) will be enforced soon.

Over the past several days, topics such as PKP 2.0 and MCO 2.0 have peaked at the top of the Twitter trending list in Malaysia.

Today, 1 October, Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham tweeted about staying at home

When questioned why returnees from Sabah are not required to quarantine, D-G Hisham explained that only those returning from red zones such as Kota Setar are required to self-isolate.

A user then suggested, "Stop interstate travel for a while. Don’t trust self-quarantine."

"How about all stay at home for a while again?" Dr Noor Hisham said.

This has caused many people to think that he is hinting at having an MCO put into place

One netizen wrote, "I already can smell MCO 2.0 in Malaysia. D*mn it!"

"Are we actually having MCO 2.0?" asked another user.

Some Twitter users also expressed their feelings regarding the matter through memes. One person noted she is "Well, not that shocked" at the possibility of an MCO 2.0.
