Earlier today, 10 October, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced a new feature for COVIDNOW, the Ministry of Health's (MOH) official portal for tracking the pandemic in Malaysia

According to Khairy, the new feature is in line with the government's plan to be transparent so everyone in the society can be empowered as the country transitions from pandemic to endemicity.

"Today, MOE (the Ministry of Education) and MOH launches a 'School Search' feature on COVIDNOW — you can get the vax coverage of your child's school, not just for students, but for staff as well," he said.

Khairy said that he hopes with this option to now see the vaccination coverage, parents and teachers will be at ease and more confident

However, for now, the schools listed are mainly KPM schools.

He added that private schools that want to be listed can opt-in by emailing MOH.

They will have to send an email to covidnow@moh.gov.my with the email subject 'COVIDNOW Inclusion'.

How does the feature work?

Go to: COVIDNOW

Once inside, you will see a blue stripe with the text 'NEW FEATURE: Click to view vaccination coverage for your school!'

Clicking on it will take you to a dedicated page about schools, where you can find out the vaccination coverage of your child's school by entering the state and school's name in the drop-down menu.

Once you have entered the name of the state and the school you want to see the vaccination coverage, the page will give you a summary along with the date.

For example, to check, SAYS entered the name of SMK Puncak Alam and got these results:
