Your workplace is mandated under the Election Offences Act 1954 to allow you reasonable time off on polling day to go cast your ballot
Employers also cannot make any deductions from the salary or impose penalties of any kind against employees for their absence during such time off, as specified under Section 25 of the same Act.

If your workplace refuses to give you reasonable time off on polling day or influences you to not vote, your bosses can be fined and jailed
Any employer who, in any manner, interferes with giving its staff a reasonable period for voting will be committing an election offence under Section 25 of the Act and shall be fined RM5,000 or jailed for a year.
Voting is your democratic right and no one can come between you and the ballot box. Make sure to practise it on 19 November!
