Taking place just after the World Cup, the 2022 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship had seen a slew of matches kick off without a hitch

After successfully defeating Myanmar, Laos, and Singapore in the group stage matches of the championship late last month and a few days ago, Malaysia's very own Harimau Malaya successfully made it into the semi-finals, defeating Thailand in their latest match last Saturday, 7 January.

While Harimau Malaya supporters seem to be at an all time high celebrating the subsequent wins, the issue of scheduling events at Stadium Bukit Jalil left most of them sombre due to a conflicting booking for Taiwanese pop-star Jay Chou's concert.

Nonetheless, the issue was soon resolved when Malaysian Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh announced the ministry's preparation of 14 big screens at multiples locations around the country to view the match that took place on 7 January.

Luckily for us, the minister took to her Twitter page last night to announce that the intiative, which is referred to as the Big Screen Programme, has expanded to over 25 locations and will be airing tonight's second match between Malaysia's Harimau Malaya and Thailand's Changseuk.

In her tweet, Yeoh stated that Labuan was among the many locations that have now been included in the lineup, and encouraged Malaysians to tune in and enjoy the upcoming match

In an earlier tweet where Yeoh announced the provision of 14 big screens across the country for the 7 January match, the minister stated that the effort was to ensure that all Malaysians can enjoy the matches as it approaches its final stages

"Hopefully, this solid support will take Harimau Malaya to the final stage," she wrote. Closing out her tweet, Hannah encouraged other Malaysians to spread the news of this programme, so that they may tune in and watch the match, too.
