Harimau Malaya's star footballer Faisal Halim, who was recently splashed with sulphuric acid, is eager to make a comeback after undergoing a third surgery at a private hospital last night, 9 May

The update about Faisal's high spirits was shared by Selangor Football Association deputy president Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar, who visited the Selangor Football Club's (FC) winger this morning, 10 May.

According to Shahril, Faisal told him that he wants to "come back", reported Berita Harian.

He told the media waiting outside the private hospital that Faisal is responding well after undergoing a three-hour skin allograft surgery and is now cheerful as he cannot "sit still" in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Shahril said that he believes the national winger will make a fast recovery, as evident in his resilience and perseverance so far

"He's doing well and says he wants to come back [to the field]. That's his spirit [...] he has started to walk around the room since he's an active person and a football player.

"He can now go to the bathroom on his own, and for me, this is definitely a positive development for today. When he starts to walk and is truly enthusiastic, that is very encouraging," he said.

According to Shahril, Faisal is special and everyone is praying for his speedy recovery.

"The next few days will be critical because doctors have to monitor the reaction of the reconstructive surgery. He will remain in the ICU and undergo one more allograft surgery," he said.

"I hope that he can return by Hari Raya Aidiladha," Shahril added.
