In a thrilling match, Malaysia's Ng Tze Yong secures his spot in the second round of the Japan Open by defeating former world champion Loh Kean Yew from Singapore with impressive scores of 21-16, 21-17

This victory marks the second time Ng Tze Yong has bested the talented Kean Yew, having previously done so during the quarter-finals of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games

With his current world ranking at No 21, Tze Yong's next challenge will be facing the winner of the intense showdown between Japan's former world champion Kento Momota and his compatriot Koki Watanabe.
