You can start by grouping your cables based on how much you use them and their length. Label each group with a tag or a piece of tape to make it easier to identify them later. This will make it easier to find the cable you need when you need it.

Here's a pro tip: Use electrical tape for safety purposes as it protects and insulates electrical wires and cables.

2. Reuse old cardboard tubes

A convenient way to DIY your cable organisers is to use old carboard tubes.

Old cardboard tubes from paper towels or wrapping paper can be used to neatly store and organise cables. Simply cut the tubes to the length you need and use them to keep cables neat and tidy.

3. Make your own cable ties using ribbon or strips of Velcro

Got any ribbon or velcro lying around the house that hasn't been used in years? Don't throw them away!

Instead, repurpose them into cable ties. Simply cut them up accordingly and wrap them around your cables to keep them in place and tidy.

By making your own cable ties, you can easily and inexpensively keep your cables organised and protected. This will make it easier to find the cables you need and prevent them from becoming a tangled mess. The Velcro or ribbon strips are also reusable, so you can easily adjust them as needed.

4. Use hooks and adhesive strips to keep cables neatly attached to the back of your desk or entertainment centre

Adhesive strips and hooks are reliable, affordable, and you can get them easily at your nearest DIY store.

It's also easy to install! Just place the hooks or strips around the edges of your desk, and then let your cables run through them. This way, you can avoid your wires from getting all jumbled up behind your workspace or entertainment centre.

5. Use opened shoe boxes to store your cables inside them

Got some extra cables cramping up the place? Put them in your unused shoe boxes instead! Add compartments by using extra pieces of cardboard, according to the types of cables you need to store.

By storing your cables in a shoebox, you can keep them out of sight and save valuable desk or floor space. This is a great option for those who have limited space and need to keep their cables tidy and organised. It also keeps them away from dust and debris that can cause damage over time.
