ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 will see 12 of the world's strongest teams competing for their share of the US$1,000,000 (RM4.6 million) prize pool.

After hosting its previous three editions at the Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands, this year's tournament will take place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur from 11 to 17 December.

Here's all you need to know about the upcoming Dota 2 tournament

1. The tournament will begin in two phases

ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 kicks off with a three-day Group Stage, scheduled from 11 to 13 December.

Two groups, each with six teams, will compete in a round-robin format. The top six teams from the Group Stage will advance to the Playoffs, taking place from 15 to 17 December, in a double-elimination format.

2. The top 12 teams from the world will compete for glory

Here are the teams that will be competing in ESL One Kuala Lumpur:

Some of the teams to keep an eye out for are Gaimin Gladiators, LGD Gaming, Azure Ray, and Invictus Gaming. The first three teams ranked among the top four at The International 12 (TI12), a tournament known for the biggest prize pool in esports history.

Unfortunately, the champions of TI12, Team Spirit, had to forfeit their spot due to health reasons.

Invictus Gaming will surely be the crowd favourites as the powerhouse consists of Malaysian players Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang, Thiay "JT-" Jun Wen, and Yap "xNova" Jian Wei.

3. You can catch the action both online and offline
