GPT-5 Will Include A Video Feature, OpenAI CEO Confirms
Maybe we can look forward to GPT-5 this year.
ChatGPT will soon have a video feature in its upcoming upgrade to GPT-5
OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, confirmed this information in a conversation with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on the latter's Unconfuse Me podcast.
He added that the new version will support speech, images, code, and video, making it more versatile.
The current version of ChatGPT only supports images and audio
However, the upcoming GPT-5 will include video, which will open up a wide range of possibilities, and expand the capabilities of generative AI.
The new video feature will be useful as chatbots become more reliable and contextually aware
However, users could easily misuse the feature when it comes to privacy. Previously, OpenAI faced criticism that claimed their models were trained with 'stolen' data.
Sam Altman says GPT-5 will be released this year
Altman said during the podcast that people wanted very different things out of GPT-4. He added that, "We'll make all that possible, and then also the ability to have it use your own data."
He also said that a crucial part of the development of his company's products would be the ability to deeply understand personal details — including emails, calendars, and further connection to "outside data sources" — to enable ChatGPT to receive the full scope of what users do to assist them better.
