New Rule: You Need To Have A Digital ID To Use JPJ's App Starting 10 October

Starting 10 October, Malaysians will need a MyDigital ID to log into the Road Transport Department's (JPJ) app, MyJPJ
The app allows users to check and display key documents like vehicle validity, driving licenses, fines, and more.
According to a notice on the MyJPJ app, the single sign-in using MyDigital ID will be implemented on 10 October.
The app advises users to "register on the MyDigital ID application to avoid any sign-in difficulties."
For convenience, the MyJPJ app includes a button that links directly to the MyDigital ID app, making it easy to download and register.

While the app is not the only way to check your license and road tax information, it provides a digital method to prove your road tax's validity, especially since the Transport Ministry stopped issuing physical road tax stickers.
But what exactly is MyDigital ID?
MyDigital ID is a national digital identification system designed to simplify access to government services and enhance the security of online transactions.
Instead of managing multiple passwords across different platforms, it provides Malaysians with a single verification system.
Its goal is to protect against online fraud and identity theft, while making identity verification more convenient.
Importantly, MyDigital ID does not collect, monitor, nor does it track users' online activities.
It's important to note that each person can only register for one MyDigital ID account.

MyDigital ID was first introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last year, and he was the first in Malaysia to obtain this digital identification
Since then, MyDigital ID kiosks have been set up at 200 National Registration Department branches, eight National Information Dissemination Centre branches, and 357 Tealive outlets across the country, according to The Star.
