New X Policy Now Allows Users To Upload And View Adult Content
Sexual expression, whether visual or written, can be a legitimate form of artistic expression, according to X's new policy.
X, formerly Twitter, is now allowing its users to upload and consume adult and graphic content on the platform without risk of being banned
While nudity and porn have been present on Twitter for years — even prior to Elon Musk's takeover — adult content and accounts are only removed if someone reports them.
However, the new policy makes X's stance on pornography on the platform official.
That said, there are several criteria that X users must fulfil whenever they're uploading adult content to the platform to prevent their accounts from being blocked or removed.
Under the new policy, posting adult content is now formally allowed as long as it is labelled and not prominently displayed
That means X users aren't allowed to display adult content in their profile pictures or account banners.
According to X's new policy, users can share adult content as long as they follow the content guidelines.
"We believe that users should be able to create, distribute, and consume material related to sexual themes as long as it is consensually produced and distributed," the page read.
In its latest update, X also stated that "sexual expression, whether visual or written, can be a legitimate form of artistic expression."

Adult content will not be shown to X users who are identified as children or to those who don't want to view them
Meanwhile, adult content creators must automatically label their images and video posts as sensitive content when uploading them.
"We believe in the autonomy of adults to engage with and create content that reflects their own beliefs, desires, and experiences, including those related to sexuality. We balance this freedom by restricting exposure to Adult Content for children or adult users who choose not to see it," X's policy read.
The new policy, made official over the weekend, also encompasses AI-generated content, animations, cartoons, hentai, and anime.
X's new policy comes as the platform aims to attract more advertisers in hopes of increasing its revenue.
