The man whose body was found on a stone bench at a park in Bandar Mahkota Cheras on Monday morning, 20 July, died after being stabbed multiple times in the abdomen, police have confirmed

Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said a post-mortem conducted at Kajang Hospital found that the victim died from abdominal haemorrhaging caused by stab wounds, reported Bernama.

According to Naazron, the victim is believed to be in his 30s and was not carrying any identification documents when his body was discovered.

Police received a report about an unconscious man near a housing area in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, following which a police team was dispatched to the scene.

A preliminary examination by forensic officers found injuries consistent with those caused by a sharp weapon.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Police are trying to identify the victim and suspects

Naazron said investigators are currently focusing on identifying the victim, locating witnesses, and tracing those believed to be involved in the killing.

Earlier reports alleged the body was moved before being abandoned on the stone bench

Earlier reports by local Chinese-language media claimed CCTV footage showed three men carrying the victim's body from a nearby residential alley before leaving it on a stone bench beside a basketball court.

The reports also claimed police had identified two individuals captured in the footage. However, no arrests have been announced, and police have yet to officially comment on the CCTV or the alleged suspects.
