Some of the strongest memories we carry aren't from big moments, but the small, everyday ones
A familiar dish, the sound of cooking in the kitchen, or the way certain meals instantly bring everyone back to the table.
That's the kind of feeling PEWARIS taps into.
Running from 23 April to 3 May 2026 at Temu House, this site-specific theatre experience invites you into a real home, where the story unfolds in an environment that feels familiar, lived-in, and personal.
Presented by Superbear Productions in collaboration with Yayasan Hasanah under its ArtsFAS initiative, the production leans into a more intimate way of storytelling.

At the centre of the play is a family navigating a quiet but devastating change
A mother begins to lose her memory, and with it, the ability to cook the dishes that once held the family together. What follows is a gentle but emotional exploration of what happens when the things we've always known start to fade.
Directed by Gavin Yap and written by Honey Ahmad, PEWARIS uses food as its emotional thread, a way of expressing love, preserving memory, and holding onto identity.
Because in many Malaysian homes, food isn't just something we eat. It's how we show care. It's how traditions are passed down. And sometimes, it's how we remember the people who made them.

With only 30 seats per show, the experience stays intentionally close and personal. It's the kind of setting where the little moments matter, and where you might find yourself reflecting on your own family, and the memories tied to the food you grew up with.
At its heart, PEWARIS quietly asks: what do we hold onto, and what do we pass on?
