Tiger Stripes is a coming-of-age body horror film that follows Zaffan, a rebellious and carefree 12-year-old girl who starts to experience horrifying physical changes to her body.

As she tries to hide these inevitable changes, she finds herself ostracised by her community. She learns that if she wants to be free, she must embrace the body she feared, revealing her true nature to everyone.

The film stars newcomers Zafreen Zairizal, Deena Ezral, and Piqa, as well as established actors Shaheizy Sam and Fatimah Abu Bakar.

Tiger Stripes is the first Malaysian film in many years to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and is the first film by a Malaysian female director to do so

The film is Amanda Nell Eu's directorial debut and has received rave reviews from international audiences and critics. Besides having its premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, the film also won the Critics' Week Grand Prize.

According to Lifestyle Asia, the film has bagged other accolades, including a Special Jury Mention at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Canada, and the HR Giger 'Narcissa' Award for best feature film at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in Switzerland, a festival highly regarded in genre cinema.

More excitingly, the film was recently selected to represent Malaysia for Best International Feature Film at the upcoming 96th Academy Awards.
