Reality show Calpis Soda One In A Million (CSOIAM) shocked audiences last night, 12 January, when one of its contestants, Rezza Shah, was criticised by judges Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim and Ziana Zain

Following the intense criticism, Rezza was ultimately eliminated this week alongside fellow contestant Alya Mardien.

The harsh comments from Yusry and Ziana were seen as a major blow to Rezza, despite his performance in the fourth-week concert of CSOIAM managing to entertain the audience. During the concert, themed Musical Synergy, Rezza performed a medley of Kembali Merindu by Slam and Seragam Hitam by Kristal.

The moment when Rezza was severely criticised by Yusry and Ziana left the audience at TV3's studio in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, stunned, as they didn't expect such brutal remarks for the 23-year-old contestant.

Yusry admitted that he regretted granting Rezza immunity during the first week of CSOIAM to save him from elimination, while alleging that the contestant had discipline issues outside of the competition

"Your performances have been hit or miss every week. The judges are aware of your discipline issues off-stage. Honestly, I regret giving you immunity.

"The opportunity should have been given to other contestants who were eliminated. I hope everyone practices discipline. Even if you have a great voice, discipline is crucial," Yusry said in his critique.

Ziana echoed Yusry's sentiments about Rezza, saying, "What's going on with you? This was your worst week by far. From the moment you joined this competition, you were supposed to stay focused. The judges are racking their brains now because your singing tempo was off.

"Your performance lacked energy; I couldn't feel any passion from you. It felt like you were singing half-heartedly. No spirit at all — please take this seriously."

Another judge, Cakra Khan, also commented, describing Rezza's voice as sounding tired.

"I could hear fatigue in your voice. The tempo affected your opening performance as well. I hope you can improve from here," he said.
