On Wednesday, 22 November, Coldplay paid a heartfelt tribute to their late fan, Jade Mikayla John, during their set at their KL concert

After the band performed their song Sparks, Coldplay lit up Axiata Arena with fireworks and showcased photos of Jade onscreen, all while expressing their gratitude to the devoted fan.

"We played that song for our friend, Jade. That's Jade there [pointing at the screen], who couldn't be here today.

"We send all our love to Jade's family, thank you," said the band's frontman, Chris Martin.

Previously, Jade's father, Dave John, 48, called Fly FM and shared the story of his daughter, who passed away just two weeks before the concert

Before her passing, Dave said that Jade had eagerly shared her excitement with her parents for months, as the band's KL concert would be the first time she would get to see them perform in person.

He also told SAYS that he initially did not know how to reach out to the band, and could only think of phoning the radio station for help.

"I want to get a message to the band to see if they'd show a picture of Jade during one of their songs, she was a massive fan and the concert was supposed to be the highlight music event of her life," said Dave.

Dave also said that the song Coldplay dedicated to his late daughter, Sparks, was her favourite of the band's repertoire

He went on to say that his late daughter loved Coldplay not just for their music, but also for their personalities and what the band stood for.

"She was a big fan of Coldplay's music along with the members' personalities. For her, Coldplay is the best of both, real in what they stood for and awesome with their music, she admired them on different levels. She loved Coldplay, really loved them," he added.

In the end, the loving father's touching wish for his late daughter came true when the band sent their love to Jade and her family.

Before her passing, Jade was on the brink of embarking on her studies at an internationally recognised bakery school:

Martin also whipped out a little song about the rainy Malaysian weather during their KL concert:

Meanwhile, fans who didn't get tickets to the show gathered outside the venue and sang along to the band's music:
