Are you a fan of Studio Ghibli who also loves jazz? If so, this might be the concert you didn't know you needed.
The official jazz ensemble commissioned by Studio Ghibli to reimagine composer Joe Hisaishi's iconic film soundtracks into jazz arrangements will be performing live in Kuala Lumpur this October.
Yes, you read that right.
All That Jazz, the group behind the Ghibli Jazz and Ghibli Jazz 2 albums — which sold out upon release and are now streamed in over 140 countries — will be performing at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on 24 October 2026.
Ghibli Jazz Night, brought to you by organisers Ichigo Live and Cos-mic, will also mark the ensemble's first-ever performance in Malaysia.
Audiences can expect beloved music from films such as Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and My Neighbor Totoro reimagined through pure acoustic jazz
According to the organisers, the show promises an authentic live music experience featuring just piano, vocals, bass, saxophone, and drums: "No backing tracks. No orchestra. Just five musicians and the music you never forgot."
The five-member ensemble consists of:
– Tomoo Nogami (piano and arranger)
– Yuriko Kuwahara (vocals)
– Sosuke Kawamoto (bass)
– Shintaro Kurihara (saxophone)
– Kenji Suefuji (drums)
The setlist spans the Ghibli universe, including cherished classics such as:
– Always With Me from Spirited Away
– Merry-Go-Round of Life from Howl's Moving Castle
– The Path of Wind from My Neighbor Totoro
– A Town With an Ocean View from Kiki's Delivery Service
– Carrying You from Castle in the Sky
– Country Road from Whisper of the Heart
And more classics from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, Arrietty, and beyond.

VIP ticket holders will receive a VIP laminate and lanyard, an acrylic souvenir ticket, and an A3 event poster.
