Indonesian Production Studio Teases Movie About Anwar Ibrahim Currently In The Making
Malaysian actor Farid Kamil is taking the role of Anwar while Indonesian actress Acha Septriasa was cast as Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
An Indonesian production house, Bianglala Entertainment, has teased the making of a movie called Jalan Masih Panjang about Malaysian political figure Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim
The studio, as well as Indonesian actor Hans de Kraker, have recently posted photos of the movie that is currently in production.
"First reading," wrote the actor in an Instagram post last week, revealing a few details of the film.
According to his post, Malaysian actor Farid Kamil will play the role of Anwar, Indonesian actress Acha Septriasa was cast as Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and Hasnul Rahmat will play the role of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
There are currently no details on the film's storyline or release date
However, it is known that the film is being directed by Viva Westi, a director and screenwriter from Indonesia. She previously directed films such as The Ex-Lover Shop, Koki-Koki Cilik 2, and Mursala.
Nonetheless, netizens are already highly anticipating the film, especially after getting to know the lineup of actors.
Kangar parliamentary seat candidate, Amin Ahmad, also shared on Facebook that discussions of the film started since 2018.
"Actually, after 2018, several parties met with me about this content. Some wanted to make a documentary, others wanted to make a film," he wrote in a post yesterday, 7 November.
