Jackson Wang has released his latest single, Thank You, and some Malaysian and Singaporean fans have a pretty special cameo in the accompanying music video
Released on 21 September, the black-and-white music video features 30 real Jackson fans from around the world, including fans from Malaysia and Singapore.
The project received applications from more than 80 countries before 30 fans were chosen
Directed by Ojun Kwon, the Thank You music video was filmed entirely on the new iPhone 18 Pro and uses a stripped-back black-and-white visual style.
Throughout the video, Jackson reflects on different stages of his life and career, with the people, outfits, and characters around him representing different memories and chapters along the way.
That includes his early days in gymnastics and fencing, memories with childhood friends, his time with GOT7, and the different eras of his solo career.
And, of course, his fans are part of that story too
The whole concept ties back to the song's message, with Jackson using Thank You to show his appreciation for the people who have supported him throughout his journey.
Rather than simply dedicating the song to his fans, Jackson invited them to be part of the music video itself.
Jackson's team shared with SAYS that fans submitted their applications online before being shortlisted for the project.
Thank You marks Jackson's first release after signing a management deal with Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by JAY-Z
JAY-Z welcomed Jackson to the company, describing him as an artist with "a very special drive" in a statement announcing the partnership.
The new single also comes after a big year for Jackson, who has continued his MAGIC MAN 2 World Tour, with the album having debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200.
He is set to continue the tour with mainland China dates beginning in October.
