Thanks To These Zookeepers, The ‘Jurassic World’ Raptor Pose Has Become Its Own Meme
"It's not about control. It's a relationship based on respect." - Owen Grady a.k.a. Chris Pratt (Jurassic World, 2015)
If you have already seen 'Jurassic World' (or at least, the trailer), you'd know that the ever-lovable Chris Pratt plays Owen Grady, a very capable (and handsome) raptor whisperer who commands his own velociraptor squad
Inspired by his manly pose, zookeepers all around the world are fighting for a spot in the exclusive squad keeper's club by recreating the soon-to-be iconic shot of Pratt's character taming the velociraptors
So we tracked the #JurassicZoo and #ZoorassicWorld tags on Twitter and Instagram... and found so many AMAZING photos of zookeepers with a variety of animals in their care! Check out some of our favourites, like this one with rheas:
Yep, we thought they were ostriches too! Turns out, rheas ARE related to ostriches and emus. Speaking of emus...
... And multi-coloured parrots and macaws!
Looks like it's pretty easy to form a relationship with these adorable penguins
Who needs raptors when you have walruses and seals?
Now on to the larger, scarier animals, such as the Southern White rhinos...
Adding to the #omgsocute factor are some fluffy llamas and alpacas...
Awww... look at the kangaroo clinging on to its keeper!
The zookeepers are definitely having way more fun than the camels and zebras (who don't seem bothered by the attention at all!)
Then we have some normal folk trying out the raptor control pose with their pets, like these guys with their brood of chickens...
Their efforts definitely did not go unnoticed. Not only have these photos gone viral and got a lot of attention from international media, Chris Pratt - the leading man of 'Jurassic World' himself - thinks it's AWESOME!
This is absolutely awesome! #ZoorassicWorld http://t.co/IZAMgGpt6G
