Selangor Concert Organisers May Soon Need To Display 'Say No To Drugs' Signs
This rule will be a requirement for obtaining a concert permit in the state.

Concert organisers in Selangor may soon be required to put up 'Say No to Drugs' signs at event entrances
This new rule will be one of the conditions for obtaining a permit to hold concerts in the state.
According to Bernama, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan announced that this proposal was submitted to the state government and the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) earlier this month.
"Previously, warnings about drug use were only printed on concert tickets. With this new measure, we aim to directly curb drug use at concerts by making the message more visible," he said, reported Harian Metro.
The proposal follows the tragic deaths of four individuals who attended the Pinkfish concert in Bandar Sunway last year
Pathology reports later confirmed that three of them died due to consuming stimulant drugs.
In response, the Selangor police proposed stricter concert guidelines.
These include regulating the number of attendees based on venue capacity and improving security measures to prevent drug use and sales at events.
To further prevent drug-related incidents, police will boost intelligence efforts before and during concerts
"Our goal is not to stop concerts from happening but to ensure they are conducted more responsibly. We want to prevent any more tragic incidents, especially in Selangor," Hussein said.
The proposed 'Say No to Drugs' sign is just one of several measures aimed at making concerts safer for everyone. Local authorities will enforce these conditions when issuing permits to event organisers.
