10-Year-Old Boy Who Choked On Gummy Candy Dies
He was in critical condition at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in Penang General Hospital.
A 10-year-old boy who had been in critical condition after reportedly choking on a gummy candy has died on Thursday night, 20 February
According to the New Straits Times, the news was confirmed by the Year Four student's aunt, Siti Farhani Mohamad Fikri.
"Fahmi (Mohamad Fahmi Hafiz Mohamad Fakhruddin) passed away around 11pm. He died while receiving treatment at Penang General Hospital," she said.
"His body is expected to be taken back to his grandmother's house in Permatang Binjai, Penaga.
"The funeral arrangements will be made at the house, and the burial is expected to take place tomorrow morning (21 February)," she added.
Fahmi's parents are comforted by relatives at Penang General Hospital after receiving news of his passing last night.

He is survived by his parents, Mohamad Fakhruddin Mohamad Fikri, 35, Nuraini Mohamad Isa, 37, and his 4-year-old sister.
