M'sian Woman Finds iPad Exactly Where She Left It After Forgetting It Overnight In Japan
"This is the power of Japan, where people don't take others' belongings," she said.
A Malaysian woman was stunned to find her iPad exactly where she had left it after accidentally forgetting it overnight at a restaurant in Japan
Sharing her experience on TikTok, Intan said she was nearly in tears when she realised she had left her device behind after returning to her hotel that night.
"It was already 10.30pm, and the restaurant was closed. I couldn't even give them a call," she lamented.
With no choice but to wait until the next day, Intan said her heart pounded as she walked up to the store the next morning.
To her relief, she and her husband spotted it sitting atop a signboard outside the halal ramen restaurant — exactly where she had left it the day before
She admitted she didn't even remember placing it there, initially assuming she had it left it inside the restaurant.
Overjoyed to have her iPad back, she praised the "power of Japan", where people don't take what isn't theirs.
Amazingly, she revealed that the device was not even password-protected and had been left untouched for about 12 hours.
In the comments, several netizens shared their own experiences of recovering their lost belongings in Japan
One user joked that the only thing that ever goes missing in Japan is umbrellas.
Another recalled accidentally leaving 1 million yen (about RM29,000) in a taxi, only to find the driver waiting for them in the hotel lobby to return the envelope.
Another netizen shared that they had left their bag at a ticket counter in Tokyo and found it exactly where they had left it the next day.
