RRR, a 2022 Telugu epic action film from South India, has just created history by becoming the first Indian film to win a Golden Globe

RRR, directed by maverick filmmaker S S Rajamouli, won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for its scintillating and energetic musical number, Naatu Naatu (Dance, Let's Dance).

The song is composed by music director M M Keeravani and the lyrics are written by Chandrabose.

It is sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. Originally in Telugu, Naatu Naatu was also released in Hindi as Naacho Naacho, in Tamil as Naattu Koothu, in Kannada as Halli Naatu, and in Malayalam as Karinthol.

This is the first Indian song to win the prestigious award

Naatu Naatu won against nominees such as Carolina from Where the Crawdads Sing, Ciao Papa from Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, and Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The music video, a direct scene from the movie featuring South Indian actors Ram Charan and N T Rama Rao Jr, has had millions around the world grooving to its energetic beat.
