The Neighbourhood Reveal Their Favourite Things About Being In Malaysia For The First Time
It's sweater weather all year round with these guys.
One of our best memories from Good Vibes Festival is definitely sitting down with The Neighbourhood
Hailing from the United States, the boys have definitely come a long way since their 2013 hit single, 'Sweater Weather'.
The band was among the headliners for Good Vibes Festival, which happened on 21 and 22 July.
In an exclusive interview with SAYS, The Neighbourhood revealed how the band's name came about, the song that means the most to them, and what they loved the most about Malaysia:
SAYS: Hi guys! You've been in the game for about seven years now. Which song of yours means the most to you?
Mikey: 'Daddy Issues'. It was like, a shining moment for us on our second record (Wiped Out!). Making that record was difficult in a lot of ways, and that song came really easily. It's definitely one of my personal favourites.
Jeremy: I would say 'Sweater Weather'. It kind of changed all of our lives.
Jesse: Yes, 'Sweater Weather'.
SAYS: Tell us about the inspiration behind your latest album, The Neighbourhood
Brandon: I think this (the latest album) is the most we've worked together on our music. Everyone's just coming in, dropping ideas, and we kind of inspired each other (on the album).
Honestly, I think that was the theme of the album. It's about the process we went through to get here.
SAYS: You guys are no stranger to being in the limelight. What's the one thing people don't know about you?
Mikey: I think most people know this but, we all grew up together as friends. I think it's just rare.
Zach: We all grew up in the same neighbourhood! laughs
SAYS: It's your first time in Malaysia! What's your favourite thing so far about our country?
Jesse: No tax on designer stuff! I've copped a lot of Louis Vuitton, which is great.
Mikey: The night markets. I went to one near our hotel, and I had a lot of fun. It was cool!
Brandon: We had ramen in that mall, it's not Malaysian but it was pretty good.
Jesse: But that whole mall (Pavilion KL), it was pretty extreme! The size, the stores, and the products in the stores; they have stuff that I've never seen.
Not to mention, the nature in this country. It blows my mind that there's so much jungle and a big city is in the middle of all of it, like, how did you guys do this?
The band's #GoodVibesFestival performance was off the charts! We're definitely ready for another The Neighbourhood concert in Malaysia.
