"Anyone From KL?" — The Strokes Give Shoutout To Malaysian Fans At Singaporean Concert
Before performing their final song, The Strokes' frontman Julian Casablancas greeted and thanked their Malaysian fans for attending the concert.
The Strokes' second-day concert in Singapore was a huge success, following the band's announcement that an extra date would be added to accommodate Malaysian fans who missed them at Good Vibes Festival 2023
The American band performed 16 songs during the concert, including Reptilia, Last Nite, and Someday.
Many Malaysians who attended the concert shared their excitement on social media after years of waiting to see their favourite band perform live.
Among those fans is TikTok user @cowbear22, who captured a special moment between the band and their fans.
Before performing their final song, The Strokes' frontman Julian Casablancas greeted and thanked their Malaysian fans for attending the concert
"Did anyone actually come down from KL or...?" he asked, to which the Malaysian fans replied with a loud whoop.
"That's crazy, but thanks for coming! We're going to try to make it up there sometime," he added.
In an Instagram post published last night, 3 August, the band also stated that Malaysian fans will receive free shipping if they purchase The Strokes' printed posters.
Previously, Casablancas said in a since-deleted Instagram post that Malaysians who attend their concert in Singapore will receive discounts when purchasing their merchandise.
"Also, couldn't do it with the tickets, but we think with the merchandise (which we control), for people travelling from Kuala Lumpur, we're gonna offer mega discounts (with proof of residence and travel) to try and maybe offset or alleviate a bit of the cost of travel? Sorry — we tried!" he said.
