Here Are The Most Epic Moments We Experienced At Universal Studios Singapore
You could hear people scream from halfway across the park.
We were invited to experience Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa and it was... AMAZING!
From the get-go we were super pumped to see the Universal globe as the theme song for 'Jurassic Park' filled the air around us.
If you haven't visited Universal Studios Singapore yet, you are seriously missing out. The park is enormous and has something for everyone.
That includes adrenaline-pumping rides and rollercoasters that will push your body to its physical limits, as well as kid-friendly attractions that will have the little ones bursting with excitement and magic in their eyes. Even as full-grown adults we had magic in our eyes!
There are live shows and performances throughout the day, based on huge blockbuster films that will honestly leave you speechless. It's a totally immersive entertainment experience that makes you feel like you're inside the movies. ^_^
Walking down Hollywood Boulevard made us feel like we were in 1950's America
The street is framed by rows of meticulously designed buildings that included shops, cafes, and theatres. You can also meet and greet famous characters from your favourite films. We squealed at the minions from 'Despicable Me' and went "Awwwwww!" when Elmo gave us a big wave. Just being there to see it all was super cool.
We unanimously agreed that the 'Transformers' ride is The. Best. Ride. Ever.
It's hard to describe. Basically it's a hyper-realistic 3D ride where you're in a car helping the Autobots battle the Decepticons. You're completely submerged into this world and it feels so real.
One moment you're speeding through the city then you're falling off a skyscraper, all the while Megatron and his Decepticons are chasing you down.
The technology and experience is mind-blowing!
'Battlestar Galactica' is seriously the craziest rollercoaster we have ever seen
You can literally hear people screaming from halfway across the park as they ride the enormous Battlestar Galactica rollercoaster. It is terrifying.
There are two rollercoasters intertwined into one: HUMAN and CYLON. It's a rollercoaster intergalactic battle. It starts with a slow climb to the top, then a looooong drop. Twists, turns, upside down then downside up. And the whole time you see glimpses of the other rollercoaster, 'battling' alongside yours. Epic.
Our video producer, Fadzilah, was beaming from ear-to-ear. Gowri, our content specialist, not so much. From that day forward, Gowri has never been the same again.
Going on the 'Revenge of the Mummy' ride was super exhilarating because we were going high-speed in absolute darkness
We sat on the underground rollercoaster where it's pitch-black. Then suddenly it surges forward and we dropped into an abyss. It's super high-speed with unexpected turns, drops, and horrors jumping out to scare you when you least expect it. And just when you think it's over, the whole ride starts again... in reverse.
We headed to Mel's Drive-In for lunch and caught a live show that had us grinning non-stop
The old school American diner served huge portions of burgers, fries, and drinks.
While we were chomping down on our burgers, we heard music playing outside and a crowd getting excited. It was 'The Cruisers' performing a medley of top hits from the 50's. They sang and danced live, getting us and the rest of the audience pumped. We couldn't help but sing and dance along.
One of them even walked off the stage to serenade our very own video editor ;)
There are live shows scheduled all day throughout the seven zones of the park. We also caught 'Puss in Boots' on stage at the 'Far Far Away' zone. SO CUTE!
'Madagascar' and 'Far Far Away' had really fun rides and amazing 4D shows
We rode the 'Enchanted Airways' ride at 'Far Far Away,' which is a 'junior' rollercoaster. After conquering 'Transformers,' 'Battlestar Galactica,' and 'The Mummy,' we were sure this would be a walk in the park.
Nope. We still screamed going down the drops, twists, and turns!
Next we tried the 'Shrek 4D Adventure' where we followed everybody's favourite green ogre and Donkey on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona. The 4D experience included theatre seats galloping as we rode horses through the land, the sensation of thousands of spiders being thrown on our bodies, Donkey sneezing wet snot into our faces, and much more.
We really wanted to go on the 'Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure' but we got caught in a thunderstorm!
All outdoor rides had to pause operations due to the lightning :(
However, during my last visit to Universal Studios Singapore, I did ride the 'Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure' and it is so much fun. You get soaking wet while riding this white water raft through the 'Jurassic Park' river and off steep, sudden drops. Meanwhile, the animatronic dinosaurs roam around freely.
Some of us have been lucky enough to watch 'Waterworld' and it is truly one of the most amazing live shows you'll see
The open theatre includes 'splash zones' where you're guaranteed to feel the action up-close and personal. The show is an adaptation of the movie blockbuster by the same name and includes tonnes of live action stunts, explosions, acrobatics and more.
But the rain didn't dampen our spirits... we just rode 'The Mummy' and 'Transformers' rides again!
The indoor rides were all still operating so we took advantage of it and went on our favourite rollercoasters for a second time! Honestly, we could have gone again and again and not gotten tired or bored. They are THAT good.
We also caught a few shows, then went shopping!
A major perk of being at Universal Studios Singapore is that you can get original, exclusive movie merchandise ^_^
From 'Minions' to 'Jurassic Park, 'Sesame Street' to 'Transformers,' and much much more. It's a haven for movie buffs.
Honestly, we just scraped the surface. There's an endless amount of fun to be had in Universal Studios Singapore. From the dozens of indoor and outdoor rides, gigantic rollercoasters, live shows and performances throughout the day, the themed cafes and restaurants, plus all the meet and greets with your favourite movie characters, there's so much to do and see!
We all wish we could stay there forever <3
