Here's Your First Look Of Michelle Yeoh As A Starfleet Captain In 'Star Trek: Discovery'

A trailer for the new TV show was released earlier today.

Just last year, it was announced that Datuk Michelle Yeoh will be taking on the final frontier in a TV spin-off of the iconic sci-fi franchise 'Star Trek'

While production for the show is still underway, a trailer for the upcoming 'Star Trek: Discovery' has been released... and it looks pretty epic!

Set 10 years before the the original 'Star Trek' and its characters came into the picture, 'Star Trek: Discovery' will centre on the crew of USS Discovery as they discover new worlds and civilisations. It is reported that the show will also tackle "an event in 'Star Trek' history that's been talked about but never been explored" in a season-long arc.

Having made a cameo appearance in 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2', Yeoh returns to outer space as Captain Philippa Georgiou, captain of the Shenzhou

At the show's centre is Michael Burnham, First Officer of the USS Discovery, who will be played by Sonequa Martin-Green ('The Walking Dead'). Other cast members include Jason Isaacs ('Harry Potter' franchise, 'The OA') as Captain Lorca of the USS Discovery, James Frain ('Gotham') as Spock's father Sarek, and Doug Jones ('Hellboy') as Starfleet Science Officer Lt. Saru.

Also, there's gonna be some fancily-dressed but still pretty aggressive Klingons wreaking havoc for the peeps of Starfleet

'Star Trek: Discovery' is set to premiere in mid-2017 on CBS and Netflix.
