Sometimes, all you need is a few hours to sit back, switch off, and let someone else take care of you
That was pretty much the experience I had at cher's Salon, a boutique hair and scalp care salon tucked away above the shoplots at The Park 2 Bukit Jalil.
Founded by Malaysian influencer and entrepreneur Elecher Lee, the salon offers everything from haircuts and colouring to perms and specialised scalp treatments.
It even features a rather unique addition: pet grooming services, so you can actually bring your furry friend along while you get your own hair done.
But on this particular visit, I was there to try out the salon's scalp treatment.
Located just next to Pavilion Bukit Jalil, cher's Salon is surprisingly peaceful once you step inside
The minimalist, calming interior carries a distinctly premium vibe.
It's located above the shoplots, but you don't really get much of the noise and bustle downstairs.
Instead, the space is quiet and relaxing, exactly the kind of environment you'd want when pampering yourself.
It wasn't just a quick pop-in for a hair appointment; the whole setting proved to be a genuine little escape from the city.
My scalp was definitely in need of some TLC
I started my visit with a scalp analysis, which was especially useful because I'd just bleached and dyed my hair shortly before coming in.
So, admittedly, my scalp wasn't exactly at its best.
The therapist took a look at it and pointed out quite a bit of dryness — unsurprising given the recent bleaching — along with some congestion around my hair follicles.
Upon learning about my recent hair processing, she explained that she would tweak parts of the treatment to accommodate my fragile scalp and hair.
That little bit of extra attention made the experience feel much more personal.
Then came the relaxing part
After the analysis, I was guided into a private room.
The treatment combines several elements, including scalp cleansing, a double hair wash, conditioner, scalp massage, head acupoint massage, gua sha massage, shoulder massage, scalp tonic, and hair treatments.
The combination of the quiet private room, scalp massage, and various treatment steps made the entire experience incredibly soothing.
And considering I'd just put my hair through bleaching and colouring, it was probably exactly what I needed.
The biggest difference I noticed after the treatment was how clean and refreshed my scalp felt
There was a lingering cooling sensation on my scalp, and it felt much lighter and fresher compared to when I first walked in.
The before-and-after scalp analysis also gave me a better idea of what was actually going on up there, rather than simply relying on how it felt.
For someone who doesn't usually think too much about scalp care, I liked that the experience started with an analysis and that the treatment could be adjusted according to what my scalp actually needed.
Beyond the salon itself, Elecher has developed her own haircare line featuring products designed for both humans and dogs
This ties directly into the concept behind cher's Salon. Originally, Elecher wanted to create a space where she could bring her own dogs for grooming, which eventually evolved into a dual-concept salon offering both human hair and pet grooming services.
So yes, you can get your scalp treated while your dog gets pampered, too.
The relaxing surroundings, attentive therapist, and personalised scalp treatment turned this into a proper self-care session rather than just another hair appointment
Walking out with a revived scalp was definitely a win.
So, if you've been looking for an excuse to book a little pampering session — or want to treat someone else — cher's Salon might be worth checking out.
