Fans Of Captain Marvel's Goose The Cat Are Editing Their Own Pets Onto The Movie's Poster

Goose the cat has captured hearts across the globe.

Brie Larson may have kicked a** as 'Captain Marvel' in the franchise's first female-led superhero film, but part of the spotlight is definitely shining on Goose the cat

According to 'Captain Marvel' director Anna Boden, Goose was renamed for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to be more "specific to Carol Danvers' past, [...] being a pilot in the 1980s when 'Top Gun' was out", reported Collider.

In the comics, the cat goes by 'Chewie' after Chewbacca in Star Wars.

Goose is played by four different cats in the movie: Reggie, Rizzo, Gonzo, and Archie. It is Reggie's face that is used in most of the close-ups and reaction shots, reported Mashable SE Asia.

The ginger tabby has even inspired South Korean netizens on Twitter to start a wholesome new meme:

Netizens are using the hashtag "#캡틴마블_우리집구스" - which loosely translates to "Captain Marvel's pet Goose" - to share edited 'Captain Marvel' movie posters, featuring their own cats.

While some cats look regal in their close-up shots...

... Other owners put a hilarious spin to their posters!

Some non-cat owners who feared they were being left out also added their own edits to the tag:

Meanwhile, this wonderful netizen has provided the template for others to join in the fun:
