A recent clip has been going viral on TikTok after one Malaysian shared an interesting discovery he came across while walking around a shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur

The user, Afif Sukhairi, passed by the Italian luxury fashion store Versace, where he took a video of a shirt which was hung on a mannequin.

Short-sleeved, the clothing item sports Versace's signature blue base and gold patterns with elaborate designs.

Afif was quick to point out in the clip how the item bore a resemblance to the uniform of staff members at the famed Malaysian mamak franchise, Nasi Kandar Pelita

"To anyone who wants to get the shirt from Nasi Kandar Pelita, you can get it at Versace okay," said Afif in a light-hearted manner before ending the clip.

After doing some digging and comparison of our own, we discovered that there may be some credence to Afif's suggestion. The tone of blue and yellow, which is used for the uniforms at Pelita, also happen to be of a similar shade of blue and yellow printed on the Versace shirt.

While the patterns on the clothing items differ slightly, some resemblance is clear.

Here's a side-by-side of the Versace shirt captured by Afif, and the official uniform for the staff at Pelita:

Speaking on the comparison, many Malaysians also shared in Afif's opinion on the similarity of the clothing items in the comments section of his video

Multiple people couldn't hold their jokes back after viewing the video, saying that once anyone purchases this Versace shirt, they should be scared to go to any Nasi Kandar Pelita outlet.

"Come to Pelita to flex your style, but you'll end up working part-time," joked one user, while others stated that they'd be on edge, waiting for another customer to ask them to take their order.

Another user even joked about how good the boss of Pelita is to make sure the staff members are "wearing" Versace to work.

Other users even joked around saying that this clearly exposed a "secret collaboration" between Pelita and Versace, going as far to say that there'd be a "whole collection".

"Actually, Versace sponsored the uniforms of Nasi Kandar Pelita," kidded one user.

Another person even jokingly asked if Versace sold a songkok with the Malaysian flag on it, as the brimless hat is part of the uniform used by employees at Pelita.

All in all, one of the best responses in the comments section came from none other than the official TikTok account of Nasi Kandar Pelita.

"Let's hang out together!" the franchise teased.

After doing some sleuthing of our own, this SAYS writer discovered that the price of the Versace shirt is RM3,150

Officially known as the BAROCCO 660 SILK SHIRT, the item comes in two colours, blue and gold, and green and gold.

The item delivers to Malaysia, though its availability varies depending on the size being sought after.

Pelita also received praise from a customer earlier this year after one of their customers spotted PowerPoint menus at one of their outlets:

While Pelita is gaining traction for their uniforms resembling a Versace design, this other mamak has their workers wear T-shirts with cute pick-up lines printed at the back:
